Question by Fizzle: My friend is selling me his “Gaming PC” for 0?
“I promise that this system will run any DX9 game with settings all MAXED out. I’ll keep the games I have installed on the PC, just to prove it.

Specs:

OS: XP
CPU: AMD FX-60 Dual-Core (overclocked to 2.8ghz)
RAM: 2Gigs of OCZ DDR2
Storage: 200 GB IDE
Media: DVD+/-RW, Card Reader
GPU: Nvidia 8600GT
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy
Custom Case with lighting
M’board: Jetway nForce4 SLI
Software: Office, Norton, Photoshop CS3, Adobe everything else, Nero, and almost every good PC game that came out before I got my PS3″

This is what he sent me via E-mail
He’s selling me this for $ 450
I don’t know much about PC gaming and all that and I AM looking forward to getting a new computer.
Will a rig like this play games like Gears of War, Unreal Tournament III, and Call of Duty 4 on high settings with acceptable frame rates?
He says they can but you know what people say when they wanna sell something =p

Any input is appreciated

I think that is a good price I bought mine which is around the same as this and in your currency it was say $ 570 so I would say go for it.
Get your friend to go to this site http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest tell him to click the dropdown menu and choose cod4 and run the test, then tell him to send you back a printscreen or print the page to show you what it says (it will say how good the pc is for that game)

you didnt give accurate enough specs but if the video card is 512 MB then yes it can easily run those games on max, very very decent price too, i would buy. You can always upgrade it if you arent completely satisfied, mabye another gig of RAM would help

Yea, id say this is a really good system and even say its a steal, the only problem i see you might have with it is vista doesn’t do too well on those AMD dual-cores. But if it doesn’t have vista or if you can install xp it that would make it more stable.

  5. Astro says:

amd processors arent so good so i would try and see if the socket would take an intel core 2 duo or better
