Question by Oliver: Is this a good Gaming PC, “TF2, CoD4:MW2…”?

http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/Infinity_i5_Achilles/

Would anyone recommend this as a relatively good gaming PC, that would run most games well? I was thinking of building my own, but my friend recommended this one, and i am low on time.

Thanks.

P.S It would only be running things like TF2, CoD4:MW, and other low-end graphics games like Half-Life 2 ect.

$ 1000 for that PoS?

The 3.3gHz i5 is a decent mid-level CPU.
The memory is more than you’re likely to require as a minimum for quite a few years.

That being said, the graphics card is a joke…and a bad one at that. It barely qualifies as an Office class GPU.
Since the mobo has an Intel graphics chip onboard, you are not crippled to require one company or the other. I’d suggest spending the extra $ 50 and have the HD5770 installed. If you simply *have* to have the nVidia product, buy the 460. Personally, I’d go with the ATi card, since ATi works better with Intel than nVidia does…and the driver support is better.

If you can do your own build, do it…you can make a better computer for less than this…let alone the freight and import fees if you’re not in England (since the flag tells me the question was posted on a US forum).

Good Luck!

EDIT: The PSU and HDD are also not what I’d consider as part of a gaming machine.
