Question by AP: Do I need a “gaming computer” to get a major in computer science?
I want to know if a gaming computer is needed for the software that my son would need in college while taking this class. He plans to eventually move on to create games.. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!
These points are very well taken; however, he wants a Laptop and not a PC. Another thing, we have been looking at a few of them. It’s just that we are undecided on which way to go..

I understand that he wants a fabulous “gaming computer” but he also understands that he is getting what he needs and not what he gets.

By the way, no disrespect is taken here. On the contrary, I appreciate your advice. We both do!!

If your son is planning on majoring in computer science he should buy his own computer. I mean that in no disrespect. Only he can say what sorts of things he needs. He will probably be doing a lot or programming, so in that regard, no, he doesn’t need a “gaming computer”. Maybe that’s his way of sweet-talking you into spending more money?

Ok,lets cut to the chase. You should get it for him it would help him out a lot because he has more freedom in a way of speaking. But if hes taking it as a class in college, university etc. they should provide it.I’d recommend building one because you can get more bang for your buucks. This website makes decent builds http://www.tomshardware.com I also recommend my cousins’ website
