Question by Heat Fan: Brand new custom built computer, “A disk error has occured….”?
I built my own computer with parts, and attempted to install different operating systems like Vista. The first attempt was with Vista, and I got the “Cannot install the hard drive, 0×80300001 error”. I rebooted a couple times to see if it would work, but i didn’t work. Then I tried to install Windows XP. The files were all installed I think, but when it restarted the computer, I got the screen, “A disk error has occured, press Ctrl Alt Dlt to restart.”

What is the problem and how do I fix it?
Remember this is a BRAND NEW computer. All new parts, all new hard drive.

Your hard drive is most likely DOA (dead on arrival). You need a new one.

Sounds like your hard drive is bad. Take it back and get a replacement.

Do not take it back to the store because they will charge you for it cn get fixed take it to its main source like a windows computer just call customer help from the website microsoft.com and look for customer care.

If you have the correct RAID drivers installed i would say that you are not installing the operating system correctly or the hard drive is defective.

  5. Ricky N. says:

you were trying to install vista and then XP and the programs have got mixed up in the hard drive.
please install only Win XP Pro after a “complete format” of the hard disk, not a “quick format”
